Professionalism practice project

Session: 23/01/2019

This was an extra session that was provided to help with structuring and palnning a lesson or activity to teach.

This was a very eye opening session, I, out of my group, was able to make it to the sessions. We planned as a group that I would go and whatever materials and notes I had I would feedback to the rest of the group what I had learned.

First we all introduced ourselves to each other as there were students from all over the University on different courses.

(On a side note it was very interesting to see the different viewpoints of my interesting peers, as the purposes for being at the work shop differed from mines.

Through this workshop I was able to start figuring out how to formulate activities. and to be prepared as to running over the time or being under the time limit. Mainly to plan in advance considering things that could affect the plan, for example being able to cut out something but it the flow of the children’s learning is not messed up.

Edlab meeting #2

For the second meeting we arrived at the Spanish steps, we were all sat in our respective groups depending on which project we were doing, as part of the poetry on my tongue group we all sat together.

We were given an activity to complete in teams, which was in pairs taking turn go out to the different leaders of he projects and we had to complete the tasks they presented with us like, name 6 board games. There were different requirements that we did not know were set in place that frustrated us, like even if we completed the task given if we did not meet these specific requirements, i.e. eye colour we failed.

The game consisted of trying to get as meant cards as we could which was difficult, but the cards we did get had a word on each and we had to write an acrostic poem for each:

After the time limit ran out the seminar leaders at the time explained that we could trade the cards if we pleased and we did, and we had a three topic cards, two aim cards and one card that tells you how you are to present your ideas. In my case we had to present the activity we came up, which was people of all ages could attend. Breaking barriers being able to experience and explore nature through the senses. Then express their journey through poetry.

We planned it and nominated a main spokesperson and we gave the sound effects:

This was the end of part 1 of the days activities.

Mushaira

This is a poetic symposium, where poets gather and recite their works. It is part of North Indian culture, also in Pakistan and the Deccan. Mushaira is admired by many in the forum of poetry as platform for free self expression.

The Beginning.

Today we were introduced to the content of the Poetry On My Tongue project, it was very intriguing actually and being introduced to others that I’ve never met before but we have poetry in common which was lovely. We began to brainstorm ideas:

We shared and discussed this with the rest of the group and the project leader:

We left with more insight on this project and I will do more research to help with the development of this project, I look forward to it.😊
